The front cover is a photograph of Donovan posing with guitar, taken at an odd angle and
with the background in focus so only his face, right hand and the body of the guitar can be
clearly made out. His left hand, jacket and the tuning pegs all merge into a pleasant,
sparkly blur.
The back cover has a more standard photo of Don, blowing his harp and holding down a chord
for the camera. Two Donovan penned `poems' are printed on the right hand side:
Precious little and the lyrics to
Catch The Wind.
Notes:
- Some copies have the title of the album as What's Bin Did And What' Bin Hid on
the second side, as well as mis-spelling the song as Tangerine Puppett. Ade says there
are three releases - one without the album title mis-print, one with the mis-print and one
with a redesigned cerise label which was released in May 1965. I'm not sure how the labels
differ.
- Later compilations list The Alamo as Remember The Alamo and it is credited
to Jane Bowers, not `arranged by Donovan Phillips Leitch'.
- Later releases list Car Car as Riding In My Car (The Car Song) and other
permutations.
- ASCAP's files list Goldwatch Blues as Gold Watch Blues by Mike Softley.
- Later releases list Donna Donna as Dona, Dona and change the writer credits
to `Aaron Zeitlin/Arthur S Kevess/Sheldon Secunda/Teddi Schwartz/Sholom Secunda'.
- ASCAP's files list Ramblin' Boy as The Ramblin Boy but you probably don't
care about that at all.
